The Facilitator Training is a 6-day residential program for everyone who feels the calling to spread their passion for dance, music, and conscious community. We believe this is what the world needs right now, and with our training we want to offer the skills and knowledge to give your passion the wings to fly. Together, we will dive deep into the core elements that make Ecstatic & Conscious Dance so special: creating & holding a sacred space, movement facilitation, ceremony leading, basic DJing, history, organization & leadership. This know-how only works when it is in your body. Our program is designed in such a way that personal development and practical exercises go hand-in-hand. Besides our input, we will also offer daily practice opportunities to create a sacred space, conduct ceremony, and play music. This will prepare you and your fellow participants to create a real Ecstatic Dance at the end of the week in our beautiful retreat center. As a facilitator team, we will share our learned lessons both in live teachings and in written form. After 7 editions, our manual has grown into an elaborate and detailed resource that you will take home. You will also go home as part of a community of practitioners. We will provide a structure to stay connected. Previous editions have shown that many participants will stay in touch, share their questions, collaborate, and celebrate their successes.

The guidelines are simple, but how do we make it sacred, authentic and transformative?

We will dive deep into the core principles that make dance ‘Ecstatic & Conscious’:

​

1. Holding and creating a safe and sacred space 

2. Facilitating movement, dance, and rituals 

3. Creating a dance journey through sound and ceremony.

4. Dealing with challenges on the dance floor

5. Building an inclusive community and a supportive organization

Program

​

Below is a short impression of the program. In reality the program will be more flexible, organic, and adjusted to the needs of the group. Although each day has a theme, we'll weave all the topics throughout each day of the week. It will be an intense week - with a lot of information and practice. We recommend that you give yourself this entire week for your own training, growth and learning.

 

We will train all days, including some evenings.

Day 1: Arrival and Dance together. Getting to know each other and our hopes & fears. Practicalities and creating a space to learn and play togehter.

 

Day 2: A dive into the his/her/our-story of Ecstatic Dance and the art of creating a safe / brave space for dancers to get wild and free. Visit an Ecstatic Dance

 

Day 3: Skills and tools for facilitating a ceremony, ritual, or a warm up. How to get dancers in tune with themselves and with each other? Learning about the dance journey.

 

Day 4: Music and basic DJ skills: choosing the right music for every crowd, learning about the effects of music on a dancer's body and how to go with what is in the room while gently leading it. Visit an Ecstatic Dance.

 

Day 5: Troubleshooting & Integration: what can go 'wrong' and how to navigate these situations. And a surprise learning experience...

Day 6: Building a community and leadership: learning about personal leadership; how to bring diversity in awareness, build bridges with already existing communities and work with the footprints of community.Harvest of our week together and closing ceremony.

Investment

Training

• 750 euro (early bird for the first 4 people who sign up)

• 850-950 euro (full price, according to income and financial abilities)

• 950 Euro (in case your company or cooperation pays for the training)

​

10% of the profit will be donated to a charity organization.

 

Stay (5 nights)

• Double room: 200 euro (per person)

• Shared common room: 175 euro (5 people in a big room)

• Pipo wagon / Cabin for single use: 350 euro (4 places only)

• Pipo wagon / Cabin for a couple (there is only 1 bed): 450 euro

• Own tent / Caravan / Camper: 100 euro

Food

• 190 euro for food ( 5x breakfast, 6x lunch, 5x dinner)

​

• The food is vegetarian, biological and mostly local. We try to give the best food and nutrition, but we do realize that for some of us there are different needs.

• If you have your own specific food that you need, please bring for yourself. If you have allergies, please let us know.

• We offer food from Monday lunch until Saturday lunch (so no breakfast on Monday morning and no dinner on Saturday evening).

During this training we wish to create an intimate dancing and learning community. We therefore have places for 25 participants.
